Appalachian Services Project – Youth Focused Outreach Mission

This Appalachian Service Project is a youth Focused outreach mission that is Christ centered and work focused. We travel to pre-designated areas of the Appalachia mountain range and do home repair in economically depressed areas with little to no industry other than coal mining. We work in crews consisting of 2 adults and 5 youth usually 4 crews attend. This mission gives youth an opportunity to donate their time and talents to improving the living conditions of single mothers, widows or those who have been disabled by black lung, cancer or back injuries as a result of working in the mines. Our mission is to make homes warmer, safer, and dryer. ASP is about work but first and foremost its about relationships.

Mexico Mission

This ministry is open to all who are 18 and older that are willing to carry out God’s work in another country and open to receiving many blessings in return.

We travel to Mexico twice a year, once in the spring and one in the fall. We carry a construction team and a medical team. Our construction team will work on repairing as well as adding additions to the existing churches. The medical team will hold free clinics in the area that we’re working in. Our medical team will see hundreds of patients in a five day period.

Even if you can’t make the trip, you can be in involved by helping the teams pack all the items that are needed for the two weeks. You can also help by praying for the teams and financially supporting the church which supports the Mexico Mission Ministry.

Nets For Africa

Our children’s ministry is participating in a UMC Initiatives to help stop the spread of Malaria in Africa. Researchers estimate that every 30 seconds a child dies of Malaria in Africa. This program assists in providing insecticide covered bed nets for children, to help prevent them from getting bit by mosquitoes that carry the deadly disease.
